Brief summaries are appended below:

Health and Safety Policy

WRG is committed to achieving the highest standards for the management of health and safety, and demonstrates such commitment by the continuing focus of the Chief Executive on reporting safety performance in his monthly briefing to employees. Social Policy

WRG recognises the rights of employees to belong to trade unions and has set up consultation forums across the Group. The 'behaviours and values' implemented throughout the Company have been further embedded by incorporation of behavioural aspects in personnel performance reviews.

WRG publishes its employment-related polices in the Employee Handbook, which is issued to employees on joining the Company and is available on the Group’s intranet site. This is reviewed in line with best practice in employment and in order to comply with employment legislation.

A number of the policies relevant to social responsibilities are listed below:

Ethical Policy

WRG is committed to operating in an ethical manner in its dealings with stakeholders. It commits to treating its customers and suppliers fairly and honestly, and to make timely payments to key suppliers and SMEs. The Company’s employees and representatives are strictly forbidden from acting anti-competitively or offering inducements of a sort that would be considered to be bribes in the course of doing business.

Policy On Disclosure (Whistleblowing)

WRG aims to identify and eradicate fraudulent behaviour, malpractice and general abuse, occurring in the workplace. To support our values and behaviours, we encourage any employee who becomes aware of possible malpractice to report it in the first instance to line management. If an employee does not obtain a satisfactory response, the concern can be reported to a third-party helpline in confidence. All such reports are thoroughly investigated. The Company actively promotes a culture where individuals are free to express their viewpoints without fear of reprisal, and to foster constructive, open and fair debate.

Equal Opportunity Policy

The Company is committed to equal opportunity in employment polices for recruitment, selection, training, development and promotion. These are designed to ensure that no job applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, disability, trade union membership, sex, age or marital status. The implementation of this policy ensures that individuals are selected, promoted and otherwise treated solely on the basis of aptitudes, skills and abilities. WRG publishes its Equal Opportunity Policy on the Group’s intranet site.

Climate Change Policy

Since 2007, the Group has enlisted support from The Carbon Trust to advise on energy management at a selection of the various types of facility we operate. From that initial advice, we are progressing with the communication of initiatives designed to promote energy efficiency and support the Group’s strategy for climate change management. The development of our management system has included policy, procedure and objectives related to climate change and energy efficiency.
